Limb Squad

This piece is made up of plaster and ceramic legs all taken from the same mold, hanging in a pyramid form over a pile of ceramic leaves. It is a play on the word “limb” defined as an appendage of either tree or human body.

This work has some personal reference as I spent a lot of childhood time looking up at the trees above, finding human faces and shapes in the intersecting lines and forms of the branches. It seemed only natural to have the “limbs” in this piece cast leaves as well as shadows beneath them.
